Super random (and first post) but I’ve started to indulge in Van Helsing fanfics on ao3, and one specifically made me think a bit,,,
I sincerely can’t bring myself to believe that Van Helsing would be welcomed back into The Knights of the Holy Order with open arms after the events of the film. This guy let Frankenstein’s Monster live when ordered specifically to get rid of him (which yes! Is morally good on his part), as well as getting all smoochy with Anna Valerious (whoops, there goes the vow of chastity), and her blood is on his hands when he was infected with a bad case of lycanthropy (double whammy! How could he be so careless?). Velkan Valerious is also dead, but I feel like it’d be excused by the fact he was infected with lycanthropy.
But all in all, I just can’t bring myself to think that he’d be forgiven. If anything, considering he broke the rose window of the Notre Dame cathedral, is still on wanted posters everywhere across Europe potentially putting the Order at stake and them having to clean up his messes (Beneath the Rue Morgue)…yeah I think their patience has run dry at this point.
