Rak'tika Ramblings
Was curious about the trio's heights. Youngest Cymet is the same height as Minimum Viera height Iyna. Uimet seems to be average, while eldest Chieftainess Almet is rather tall.
Cymet's a later night shot cuz I apparently caught Iyna mid-pose-shift somehow the first time.
Also, if you run around to explore the map before meeting the siblings, Fanow is empty, but it's possible to run into Myalna Bowsing and her hunting party and their jaculars in town where they start their chain of Fates--however, you cannot participate in said Fates! I saw the Ronkan construct fighting the various critters just outside Fanow, and it did not appear as a Fate to Iyna, nor could I interact with any of those mobs.
Once I did progress plot and meet some of the folks around town though, I had forgotten the town info person, Iylna, is only 1 letter off from Iyna's own name.
Also once I realized Rite Master Lanille has very subtle heterochromia, I can't unsee it. It's obvious in her cutscenes in the twins' quest chain to unlock an aethercurrent (and eventually Qitari).
Speaking of the Qitari! You can go to the hill where the Stopl will be eventually, and if going at night hours, it properly plays "A Hopeless Race"--even if it's before you've defeated the Lightwarden. You can see my extra plugin info at the top and the Eorzean Time of 10:40 PM as well as the quest I was on to first enter the Yx'maja side of Rak'tika.
After Y'shtola's little stunt and needing certain help to fetch her, we all like to comment on Thancred having a nutkin at his feet in this singular instance; I have posts on it previously, also how he ducks his head when speaking about hoping Y'shtola isn't so reckless again, yet resigned to knowing better....the nutkin is there to give him a target to make that lowered head stance. Good job, lil guy.
I just liked this lady standing around Fanow. Just good default game posing.
Anyway, after months dilly-dallying (and more time on my mains), I spent a day getting Iyna's Series Rank 5 emote and some moogle tomes for a handful of things, then got her through ShB MSQ, and now, well....
Y'all know what time it is!
wasn’t the actual plan, but still satisfied nonetheless!
(also don’t tell me sitting down was a tactic to hide the outfit, tsktsk)
Fanow, Viis village
Scenic shots, got dancer to 80 with Loki’s monk, leveling Trusts, and we reached the end of the new map dungeon!

Obligated to get pics of the Rak’tika Nutkin when it shows up briefly in MSQ. It’s my favorite easter egg. I think we do need more of Thancred and his Nutkin friend back on the Source.
Unassuming Townsviis
“You...it cannot be... Are you...!?
“Ah...oh, no. My apologies for the outburst. I confused you for someone I once knew. Something about you...seems so familiar.”
-Unassuming Townsviis, “Not Unfamiliar” sidequest, Shadowbringers 5.0
In Fanow in Rak’tika, one gets the feeling that many of the viis in the village are younger than the Flood; very few of them remember a time before, or speak of their elders’ stories. Attrition is a real concern for the chief and her sisters, as well as Master Lanille, who is one of the few elder surviving viis.
There’s an elder, unnamed townswoman who seems to somehow mistake the Warrior of Darkness for someone else, but quickly realizes her error. She then asks for stories of the outside world, sometimes confirming rumors she has heard. Eventually, she decides for your patience and generosity in indulging her curiosity, that she will give you a story as well--but asks to meet somewhere more private, as “it would not do if I were overheard.”
"Excuse me miss, I know we just meet but I'm love you"
(This happens more frequently when I play than I want to admit)
