S/o stood at the doorstep of the Heelshire house. The house, in general, was big, and mansion-looking. To be honest, they were slightly intimidated by it, but they quickly brushed it off. looking straight at the wooden door, they took in a deep breath before knocking on the smooth wood. “Coming right there!” came an elderly voice of a woman, they sounded like they were in a hurry. Shuffling could be heard beyond the door, as footsteps came down what sounded like stairs.
The sound of a lock opening, and the twist of a door know emitted from the wooden carved slab. As the door opened, there stood behind it was an elderly woman, she was dressed properly, and had beautiful greying locks. She smiled kindly at S/o and made space for them to walk inside “Oh, please do come in!” the women proposed. S/o gave a polite smile and a curt nod, walking inside the house, being sure to clean the bottom of their shoes on the provided rug. Once done they looked around the interior of the house, noticing the beautiful décor, ad sheen look of the place.
They snapped their attention back to the women who beckoned them to follow. Obeying the small command they followed the women down a hall, listening intently to the elder’s voice while she gave them a tour of the humongous house.
When they got to what looked like the kitchen, a man was there. He was rummaging through paper bags. And placing items like milk and such in the refrigerator and pantry.
He looked up upon hearing them approach. He gave a welcome smile towards the two. “Oh, Mrs. Heelshire! The caretaker arrived?” the man asked, as he straightened his posture. S/o flinched at the sudden attention. They weren’t that comfortable with attention. Mostly because they were able to get away with multiple murder cases. You were a killer that wasn’t known. However, the authorities were still trying to find out their identity.
They forced themselves to relax and gave a nervous smile in return. “Yes indeed, they are quite alluring no?” Mrs. Heelshire stated, looking towards S/o with a warm smile, but her eyes held guilt.
This worried S/o and caused them to feel paranoid. They quickly suppressed themselves from looking suspicious and gave a polite nod “Thank you Mrs. Heelshrie, you are too kind!” S/o acknowledged with faked enthusiasm.
As they neared the end, they arrived at a room. As they entered S/o looked around, noticing that it was a library. They replaced sitting on a chair was Mr. Heelshire, he looks up and smiles politely at S/o, yet his body language showed nervousness and anxiety. This only furthered S/o’s suspicion ‘Something’s wrong with this place they thought before giving him a welcoming smile.
They approached each other and shook hands “Mr. Heelshire, a pleasure to meet you. I am S/o L/n” S/o said politely. He smiles before leading them out back downstairs, this confused S/o until Mr. Heelshire answered their unspoken question “I will help you with tasks, show you how to operate and such” nodding in understanding they continued to follow him.
After going around the house, and outside of it they then got a hold of what to do. However they wanted to clarify this, so they turned to Mr. Heelshire “Sorry Sir, but I just wanted to summarize to myself about my duties. Will that be alright?” They asked politely, with a polite nod he went up the stairs.
Taking this as their chance, they quickly went over everything “(1) Put all leftovers down the hatch... but why? (2) Clear out the mouse traps outside.. but what does the BH stand for? (3) Play music at unbearable volume... How come.. does it have to do with the walls? Just like how the rats get into them..?” The list goes on as S/o mumbles to herself about what she needs to do around the house.
It wasn’t until Mrs. Heelshire descended the stairs and tapped cautiously on S/o’s shoulder did they snap out of their trance. Smiling they faced the elder women, Mrs. Heelshire smiled in return “Brahms, would want to meet you” she said, this made S/o deflate a but. After learning that a doll housed their dead son’s soul it chilled them deeply. But they shook it off and nodded in confirmation “I would love to meat Brahms!” they exclaimed excitedly.
With a nervous smile, they led them to where a room sat, untouched by their tour and adventures of the house. Curious S/o walked closer to the couple and peered down on the door. Once They were there, they informed S/o to wait for a moment.
Being as polite as they can be they nodded and stood outside the door. Some time passed before Mrs. Heelshire came back. Following the older woman inside they went and stopped in their tracts at the sight in front of them. They’re sitting on an elegant red velvet chair was a porcelain doll resembling a boy, with paper white skin, black(?) hair that complemented his, black eyes.
Approaching the doll, they crouched down to its eye-level “Hello there Brahms! I’m S/o, it’s lovely to meet you!” S/o said, smiling sweetly at the doll. The Heelshire’s freeze up, staring at the back of S/o’s head, they knew something was up when they felt holes being burned into their head.
They looked straight into Brahms’ eyes and gave a heartwarming look “Don’t worry Brahms, I’ll take care of you” S/o said under their breath.
unbeknownst to them was that Brahms was watching and listening to everything they said. From the other side of the walls, he leans his head on the wood and smiles “I’ll care for you too, S/o...” Brahms promised, clenching his fists, a strong urge to protect his new nanny, overwhelming him.
H has to protect you from the cruel reality of the world, he must keep you away from his cruel parents, he must be with you, he must care for you as you care for him.
