Summary:
Her face screws, and suddenly she begins to laugh. Because it is so absurd that she is crying over a dream child when her son is growing inside of her. That she will fret over the fate and wellbeing of a figment of her imagination. She sobs and laughs simultaneously until Torben wakes up bewildered, and when she tries to tell him that nothing is wrong, she wails. “I think I’ve lost someone,” she finally chokes out. “But I don’t think they exist.” In which Hannah breaks the cycle.
Notes: of all characters you want to have a happy ending, Hannah probably doesn't top the list. but this fic, and her relationship with a son she never had, is beautiful.
