It's like a literary analysis paper for a tv show episode instead of a book or a chapter.
Mo's Long Answer:
Usually, I take a scene from the show - almost always Supernatural - and I explain it. I interpret the characters and this sometimes helps others to see the show the way I do. It may make my fanfiction a bit clearer. It may help you to understand me better.
Other times, I pick a personal headcanon or a question I have about the show and expand on it. I answer questions like 'why did the character do this?' or 'what was the reason for that?'.
Obviously you can agree, disagree, or partially agree. I don't expect people to agree; I just want to share and hear other people's thoughts on the same things.
It may be easier to understand once you see one. Some people write short metas. Some people write long metas. You may find it helpful to scan through the spn meta tag. ...or just wait for my first post. It will be in t-minus a few seconds, anyway. ;D
