Species Homo Reptilia
Fandom: Stargate
General: Peaceful species, spread around the globe, have larger cities + rural ares around. Total population around 1 Billion. Governed by those who feel like they are up to the task (generally 5-10 people per city), most of them really just have the best for their people in mind. Respect nature and think keeping the environment in tact is more important than scientific advancement. Agender.
Reproduction: The species is hermaphrodite. They have a heating cycle, every ten years. Occasionally individuals go in heat outside the cycle, this can be treated with medications, if the person wishes so. They usually have sex with several partners during the cycle. (STDs?) Abstinence is considered unusual but not frowned upon. Some people simply don’t go in heat.
Being a reptilian-like species each of them lays around 10-15 eggs. The eggs and the young are not brought up by their parents but by nurse-maidens. Only about 1 out of 10 survive the first year. This is considered natural, the rate could be improved artificially through medications but that would increase the population too fast. They are considered as adults when they first go into heat, usually at the age of ten.
Role in Stargate: SG-1 encounters them on a standard mission. They are some communication problems, since their language is very different, but the species is very friendly and curious. The Goa'uld have never been on the planet. After Daniel figures out most of the language and they are able to probably communicate they want to make an alliance. They don’t have any weapons to offer but are more than happy to share their medicine, technology and most of their knowledge. In exchange they would like information. Information on what? Literally anything. They are very curious about humans and want to know as much as possible but respect that the humans do not want to share everything. They would also like information on how the stargate works and are willing to work with the humans, in hope that together, they can explore much more of the galaxy much faster. They also want help, should the goa'uld ever attack their planet. The SG-C agrees to that but remains suspicious.
