My opinion: If you think your novel is finished, it is finished. You are the author after all, you get to decide where your story go. Personally, I think you won even if you didn’t get to 50 000 words. You wrote a novel; you’re awesome! :)

Thanks. Yea, I feel like I just can't force it anymore. I don't know what to say. I'm sure I will hit over 50k when I edit it but that's going to take some time.

My advice is not to take CampNano as the final goal. Not all good stories have 50k words and 50k words are not necessarily a good story. You’ve written an entire novel, isn’t this motive enough to be proud of yourself?

Yea, I guess it's hard because that was the point right? I mean, not the point of writing but the point of the whole competition angle. I am proud that I wrote it just upset I couldn't quite get there. The long term goal is to get it published so that's definitely the final goal!

Linds, you’re not a cheat, and not a failure. YOU WROTE A FUCKING NOVEL! Focus on hitting the 50k mark. And then let it rest. You can edit and change stuff later. But don’t give up now. You deserve to win this.You already win this.

Thanks Pau. I won't hit 50k tonight but I will keep writing for a bit and go through the editing process that I was doing. At least I can keep going until midnight right?

if you feel your story is done then it’s done. so what if you didn’t hit the 50k? it’s not like you’re inferior to anyone or that you suck as a writer. If your story is done, it’s done. You’ve made it. It’s finished. :)

now get to edit it and polish all the rough corners of it, in the end you may or may not reach the 50,000 but what matters is that you wrote the story that needed to be written out of your head. And for that my friend I admire you.:)
