Both my Watcher's prefer the Defiance over Caed Nua. Maevina will be quite open about it, as it was her childhood dream to be a pirate, and will spend a lot of her free time either coming up with sea shanties or practice singing them. Aysel, my other Watcher, simply prefers to be on the Sea because she is a Moon Godlike, and feels safer with her... "Godmother's" element around her. She keeps it to herself though.
