A few minutes later, Ellane would hear something behind them. A sound… like sheets moving. If they turn, and look. They would notice William who was previously completely still, peacefully breathing, now shifted from his position. A look of stress and fear on his face as his breathing slowly picks up. Sweat slowly washing off the makeup he forgot to wash off.
Look what you’ve done now.
You said you wouldn’t hurt him, but you are. You didn’t even notice, did you?
It’s too late now. You’ve already started.
He’s going to suffer the same fate as her.
No better than a returned.
All his anguish for you will be wasted.
(They shake as they read it, knees pressed to their chest, the spark in their empty eye returns- and the pink of their other eye fades to a pale orange, they raise a burning hand, stepping up from their position and-)
(They strike themself, across the cheek- they never had any instinct to hurt him- they dont know why they hit themself either... a punishment they guessed- for a crime they would never dream of committing)
"its not me-.. it isnt.. it cant be-.."
"i should be dead.. whys it back.. WHY WONT YOU LEAVE ME ALONE?!"
(they scream- almost at nothing.. but really at spike- at the anon- at themself..)
"if youd just.. go.. i could-"
"i could be done... i could rest... please stop hurting me.."
(They sink back to the floor, sobbing against their knees now..)
