Disclaimer in the description of this video: "The song "Bizaram Az Dine Shoma" is not necessarily against Islam itself, but rather the way that the Islam is twisted & used against the people of Iran by the dictators. Historically, theocracies have always been governed by power hungry dictators who use religion for their own selfish desire of power, and reflect nothing of the religions they represent. The line "I hate your forehead callus" is in reference to Islamic extremists who often have calluses on their foreheads from praying. In this song, the reference is to fake men of God who make calluses artificially to pretend that they are men of God."
I wasn't following The Kiffness when this launched, which is my only defense. But it doesn't matter that I'm linking it in 2024, it's just as powerful now. It's powerful always. Saba Zamenii is singing against the stricture that women must wear attire just so or be arrested, be beaten, be killed like Mahsa Amini was. It was worth protesting now. It is still worth protesting. Focus your anger. Let it power your words, your deeds, your art. Never forget.
