ANNA: “Up next in today’s semi-finals is the first match of the axes division! Hel prevailed over Summoner Aibreann yesterday, a fact some paying attention to current Zenithian events might find incredibly worrying. Is Princess Camilla the Hero Zenith needs and deserves? Can she overcome the queen of the underworld herself and move on to the finals? Today, we find out!”
EMM: “I’m not sure what this Hero Zenith is, but Princess Camilla certainly looks determined.”
CHROM: “You’d think that the Queen of the Underworld would be the single most terrifying axe entry, but somehow Camilla gives her a run for her money.”

Hel goes in for a test blow, somewhat relaxed like her opening in the prior round. With a saccharine smile, Camilla deflects it, likely making it appear effortless on purpose.

The sweet smile turns to a vicious one, Camilla charges. As she swings her axe up, Hel’s own expression turns serious, needing to move suddenly to meet her opponent’s weapon.

Hel attempts to cleave at the neck, as if using an actual weapon capable of beheading. Camilla seems to accept the challenge, laughing as she pulls her elbow up to block with the flat of the blade.

Camilla attempts to push her opponent’s axe away but can’t quite find the strength to do so. It’s pushed far enough that Hel can’t counter, but no point is gained.

EMM: “Despite neither one being able to land a hit yet, this is quite an exciting match. It’s like a standoff!”

Hel’s eyes widen as she pulls her axe back and goes for an upward slash. Camilla catches on, and uses the inward corner of her own axe - just where it meets the handle - to catch the same place on her opponent’s weapon, just blocking the attack.

As Camilla attempts to step in, Hel holds a firm grip, using Camilla’s method of preventing an attack against her. She is barely able to remove the weapon.

CHROM: “Three rounds in and no points have been conceded... Will this match be decided by a single attack?”

A smirk forms on the princess’ expression as Hel goes in for a slash at her arm. Rather than using her weapon, Camilla slams the gauntlet covered area of her forearm against Hel’s handle - a risky move. Contact technically having been made, the judges confer with each other, and come to a decision: as a clear block, Hel fails to gain the first point of the match.
Camilla Fourth Strike: 18

The Queen of the Underworld is angered by the judges’ decision, and Camilla knows this. She feints to the left, but then raises her axes to strike from overheard. Hel is too irate to react in time.

EMM: “OH! Oh, look, we finally have a strike!”
Hel Fifth Strike: 12
Camilla Defense: 11
Hel is still for a moment, collecting herself. She then jerks forward, shoving the top of her axe into Camilla’s stomach before she even realises the strike is coming.

Camilla coughs, winded. Hel finally lets out a smile, seemingly ready to steal that winning point, but Nohr’s first princess tilts her head up to look at her before diving to the side, not allowing the queen to even attempt an attack. She half collapses on the floor as she slashes at Hel’s ankles but unfortunately, is just out of reach.

TIE BREAKER:
Having been left in an awful position, Camilla’s expression grows taut as an axe is being dropped down on her face. She just manages to swing her blade across Hel’s wrist, forcing the weapon to drop. Finally collapsing to the ground in an attempt to dodge the falling axe, the princess closes her eyes, looking defeated... Until she hears the announcement as to where the final point was allocated.

CHROM: “...Congratulations, Camilla!”
EMM: “Well done to the Princess of Nohr! It seems not even the Underworld can stand up to her might.”
