Be Kind to Strangers
Today while purchasing some office supplies, my path intersected a radiantly beautiful 40-something businesswoman, to which I naturally paused and granted the right of way. Incidentally, we took different directions but both ended up at the register, to which I again, gave her passage. She then grabbed my item, and insisted on paying. I refused, but despite my best efforts, she insisted to pay for my manila envelopes. Having no available flowers within arm's distance, I panicked, and felt the only thing I could offer her was my signature wit. I handed her a business card and said "I assume you're married, but if he doesn't take the trash out and tell you you're beautiful, you just hang on to that." And as I attempted to exit, the automatic doors hesitated, and I walked face first into them. I then looked at her, gave the classic comical eyebrow raise, and scurried off in a Chaplin-like manner.
Tuesday 15th May - Day 11.
Had abit of a lie in compared to Tuddles as she went off to her final exam and I finally got up, had a shower, got ready, packed and put the blow up bed down and away and tidied Tudor's bed a little. Entertained myself with watching TV and writing in mine and Tudor's new notebook and then Tudor finally got back and we got the DLR and tube to King's Cross Station and went and got brunch at McDonalds (i know, 2 McDonald's within 24 hours - we're bad people! :P) and then when my ticket decided i could go no further we walked to Euston Station which wasn't too bad as it was nice and sunny! I then got the train home and left Tuddlepops and had a fairly pleasant journey reading and had a little nap too. Unfortunately my Virgin Train was late getting into Crewe so I ended up missing my connection so had to wait 50 minutes for the next train so passed the time playing on my phone and having a cuppa tea. Finally got the train home and got the bus from Shrewsbury bus station (first time I've been on a bus in a looong time, i love my car too much!) to my Grandpy's house where I had sausage, egg and chips, a Feast ice cream, a mini battenberg cake, sweets and then another ice cream. I was utterly stuffed and went home with a full belly and slept very well that night after my London adventure with Tudor and all the food :D
