The show has had nonbinary characters before, twice so far, but of course some assholes are in total denial and make entire blogs and fan videos dedicated to ‘proving’ these characters aren’t nonbinary, down to made up courses on how gem dna works. I see the same shit claiming ‘Rose and Pearl had a mother/daughter relationship’ and ‘Ruby is a boy’ so basically some folk will go to any lengths to deny we (queer and trans folk) exist, even in a kids’ cartoon about a magical half-alien boy.
