sydni sydni sydni you know i love tropesssss so!!!!!!!!! boy-next-door peter. falling in love with next door neighbor reader. they definitely go to prom together “haha just as friends because we’re just friends haha here lemme get you flowers and hold your hand and dance with you (and maybe kiss you) because we’re friends!!!!” -spidereyhes aka leyla
okay you’re getting one of those bulletpoint headcanon things because that’s what my brain is doing rn
also this is totally different than what you asked for but there’s still prom?
You were so excited to go to prom. You’d missed Junior prom because of an out-of-state extracurricular event, so you went all out senior year.
Great dress, great shoes, great hair, great nails, the Works.
You go with this guy you had been flirting with lately but you guys weren’t anything serious yet
Your mom doesn’t like him but whatever. She’s never met him she’s just basing her judgement off of what you’ve told her.
You go to dinner and things are going fine, you’re having fun, you’re taking pictures.
You get to the dance and before you can even get out of the car, a couple of your dates buddies jump into the back seat and start passing booze around
And that is not something you were into.
A little taken aback, you just kind of... wait for them to be done, thinking they’ll pass around a couple shots and then you can go inside
but then they keep drinking
and keep trying to get you to drink
so you tell your date that you’re going to wait for him inside
super upset, you go into the dance alone and meet up with a couple of your friends and explain the situation. They don’t really know what to tell you.
So you sit at a table and wait for your date to come inside, but he never does
your mom was right, he’s a little asshole
it’s taking everything in you to not cry.
your friends are off with their dates and you’ve been sitting alone for the better part of 45 minutes
eventually you decide you just want to leave
but you don’t have any way to get home, your date was the one who drove
so you scroll through your phone, looking for anyone who might be able to pick you up
you could call your mom but you’re not really in the mood for an “I told you so” speech right now
you don’t wan’t to call your dad because he’ll call the school administration and make it a whole Thing.
So you’re scrolling and scrolling until finally you land on a name
Peter Parker
Peter Parker was the kid who was your neighbor growing up.
He’s a year older than you, so he’s been away for the past year at college, but when you were kids you had spent a lot of time together
Of course, in middle school you’d had a huge crush on him, and at one point you’d even “dated”
but it was that fake middle school dating that was more blushing than anything else and only lasted a week before you decided it was too weird.
but he had just come home for the summer, and it was only 10pm so he would probably be awake.
so you text him
hey, are you awake?
yeah, what’s up?
can you come pick me up?
is everything okay? wasn’t prom tonight?
yes and no. I’m safe but I really don’t want to be here anymore.
is it at the same hotel it was last year?
yeah
I’ll be there in 10
You go outside and your date’s car isn’t even there anymore
what a jerk!!!!!!!!
a few minutes later Peter pulls up in his aunt’s car and he gets out to help you into the front seat, letting you gather the skirt of your dress up before closing the door for you
what a gentleman wow
he starts the drive home, soft music playing in the background
“Do you want to talk about it?” he asks.
and you tell him what your date did and he’s like wtf!!!! that’s so shitty!!!!
“I’m sorry,” he says. “I know you were really looking forward to it. I heard your mom tell Aunt May that you’ve been dress shopping for months.”
“Yeah, well.” is all you say.
He’s right you’re super bummed.
It’s not long until Peter’s pulling into your driveway, and you thank him for coming to pick you up.
“Of course,” he says. “Any time.”
You kind of half smile at him and get out of the car, heading up your driveway
and then
you hear the windows go down and the music go up
The car door opens and you turn around to see Peter getting out, a soft song starting.
Peter shuts the door behind himself and you look at him, confused.
He holds out his hand to you
“You deserve one dance tonight.”
You could freakin start crying this boy is so sweet.
So you walk back to him and take his hand, letting him pull you into him
And you sway together slowly in your driveway.
and
it totally leads to a gr8 summer romance
