Her head tilts cutely as she watches his hair bounce with the sudden crossing of his arms. 

It wasn’t the first time, nor would it be the last time, that she was captivated by his luscious platinum curls.

And the fact that she didn’t get a straight up “no” only made her smile grow. Hope now budding inside of her that the elite gym leader would allow her to solve the mystery that has bothered her for some time.

Of all things to be asked, this was the one that had her hesitating.

Because lying was one of her weak points. Her weakest point, truly. But would it do her any good to admit it?

“Ahh, well honesty was always encouraged…” voice fading as her finger twiddles around a stray strand of hair. “Not to say I won’t you know…lie to protect someone’s feelings, but,” she pauses, glancing up at Bede sheepishly until a sigh escapes her lips.

“Okay, fine, I’m horrible at it.”

Then there’s cooking, quite the opposite of lying.

And while Gloria considered herself to be quite humble, she was proud of her culinary skills and her creativity beyond what was written in a recipe. 

“I think since I love to cook so much I naturally became good at it,” but then she beams at him, “but truthfully I love baking so much more. I’ll make you a cake sometime, Bede!”

You know what Bede has beat though? More consecutive years losing in finals.

Gloria can’t help feeling unsettled.

A loud and frantic “Bede!” escapes a flustered Gloria. Her hands firmly resting on her cheeks as she wills them to not heat, to not give away her absolute embarrassment.

It took enough of her bravery to just ask and now she had to deal with the dire consequences.

“Am I not allowed to be curious?” she squeaks, shakily meeting his eyes before dropping to gaze at the ground.
