Fairy Tale
As you slept on his bed, Link shuffled around his small home, fetching some fruit from a small basket on his kitchen counter. He grabbed the food, munching on the juicy apple mechanically.
Distracted.
Again and again, Link found his mind racing, filled to the brim with a flurry of thoughts, all related to you.
Oh, he could wish for you to stay with him; wish that youād love him as much he loved you. That somehow, the baby in your belly would be his instead of anotherās... That it would be part of his family instead of someone elseās. The sheer desire he felt at the possibility made his head spin, his heart aching at the simple idea of somehow having youā¦
But⦠no.
Linkās hand clutched the counter, his knuckles going white.
This... this was wrong, wasn't it? Wishing on the Triforce to make you his? Forcing you to love him⦠He couldnāt do thatā¦. But the idea of raising a family with you was so temptingā¦
So... so... tempting...
The Triforce had stopped glowing, its ownerās indecision pushing it back into its inactive state. But Link knew it was still there. Waiting. Listening to his thoughts and reading into his desires.
Link couldnāt believe he had almost gone through with it. He couldnāt do that to you⦠He had to believe he couldnātā¦
But then again, he had kidnapped you. Brought you into his home as soon as he had the chance to move you. Passed out as you were from the lack of food and water ā drained because of your mysterious pregnancy and lack of sustenance ā you had no chance of protesting this decision.
You were so weak and so lacking in energy that even today he couldnāt even ask you about your partner and why they had deserted you in a time of need when it was clear that you carried life within you. He couldnāt question you about your strange ears and the strange garments you were in when he had found youā¦
All he got out of you were mumbled sleepy sounds that didnāt make sense to him. It was as if you werenāt even speaking the same language.
Most damningly, you werenāt getting better. You werenāt waking up, no matter what he did.
His hand clenched into a fist, his nails digging into his skin as he tried to fight the urge to cast a wish all over again, an alien possessiveness and righteous anger screaming for him to do something about you- anything at all.
Desperate for any kind of distraction, Link forced himself to continue eating the fruit. He told himself that he could go back to you sooner if he did so.
Heād join you in his room. With you using his shirt to sleep and nothing elseā¦
Linkās head gave a soft āthunkā when it collided against the hard wood. He groaned in exasperation.
Was this how fae mating worked? They just decided... someone was their match and started to obsess over them like this? He hadn't known what to think when he caught sight of you, lying insensate in the middle of the forest, and something had seemed to click in him. Back then, the only thing he knew at the time was that he couldn't wait to have you close...
The pull to see you, touch you and protect you was too strong to resist.
Link had spent so many years not⦠bothering to learn more of his fae instincts. In his eyes, he was already a mess of a person, and adding those impulses on top of being the chosen hero of the Triforce was not ideal in his opinion. When heād learned the ability from the old man to turn into a fairy, he hadnāt thought of how it would change him.
Turns out, it changed a lot.
Link forced himself to finish the apple. The sooner he was done with it, the sooner he could go back to his bed, to you⦠And then his thoughts would be free to obsess over something else that wasnāt your absence. Or the way you looked, or the way you smelled-
Goddesses give me strength.
He shoved the now empty basket aside and stormed out of the kitchen, all but stomping towards the bedroom.
He could do this, he could simply go back into the bedroom and check on you, make sure you were still alright and resting and-
The door opened and Linkās breath caught on his throat. You looked so perfect in his bed, his shirt oversized on you and covering most of your body, almost as if you were in a dress. You were absolutely stunning... And it was driving him insane.
You looked like a gift from the goddesses. Perfect.
Forbidden.
He couldnāt help it. He couldnāt hold himself back. His whole mind was screaming at him as he stepped next to the bed and stared down at you. The stranger. His one. Something about his shirt being too big on your small frame ā practically dwarfing you in its size ā kept him enthralled.
You were so frail, so delicate. Maybe that was the right wish to make... to make you healthy again?
The Triforce glowed faintly at the thought. Seeing you like this was horrible, your limbs thin and waif like. You looked so tiny⦠so weak... The idea of making you healthy again was hard to ignore. But like always (as often happened around you), his thoughts betrayed him. The urge to have you was pervading his good intentions.
You being in his home, healthy and safe. Being his, his partner, his one. The idea of you being strong enough to carry his childrenā¦
The Triforce shone brightly, taunting him.
"Please," he whispered, giving in.
Link knelt, staring intently down at the Triforce in his hand. His gaze was steady, his mind made up. You. Being healthy and his. A happy ending for the both of you. The idea of it, all too consuming.
He whispered under his breath his wish, the Triforce sparking in his hand with unimaginable power and giving him all that he desired.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
He opened his eyes to the sunlight hitting his face. He laid, alone, on his bed. The last rays of the Triforce were disappearing on the back of his hand as the three sacred pieces scattered across the land.
You were nowhere to be found.
Link sat up almost immediately, dread filling him. Surely it had worked? Heād clearly made a wishā¦
He swung his legs over the bed, his feet hitting the ground with a thump. He had to go check on you, see if the wish had made a change somehow-!
He ran down the stairs, his heart racing when- he suddenly stopped at the sight of you.
There you were, humming a little song under your breath. Dressed in only his shirt and an apron, your healthy body was practically radiant under the soft light of the kitchen. The gentle curve of your stomach was glaringly obvious, even with you being now in a healthy weight.
Then, just when he thought it couldnāt get any better than this, you caught sight of him and sent him a beaming smile.
"Darling! There you are... Welcome to the land of the living!" you greeted him in a language he could understand.
You were so healthy. Alive. Awake. No longer a thin and fragile doll, but now so vibrant and happy in his presence. This was a drastic change that he was still trying to process.
It almost didnāt seem real⦠Here you were, in his kitchen, in his home, the perfect picture of a stunning wife carrying his kid, and you didnāt seem to question anything.
He took a few shaky steps into the room, as if he were approaching a spooked animal.
āY-Youā¦. You look wellā¦. How do you feelā¦?ā
You pushed your plate to the side and walked to meet him somewhere around the middle.
"Fit as a horse," you winked at him, red gathering in your ā round, no longer gaunt and pale ā cheeks.
And then, you kissed him.
The feeling of your lips on his was causing his mind to go fuzzy. He automatically wrapped his arms around you, pulling you as close as he could, enjoying the feeling of you as you allowed him in your space without hesitation.
āYouāre so⦠healthy⦠You look⦠So goodā¦ā His breath hitched with emotion.
You hummed, looking at him with hooded eyes.
"And you look just as handsome as ever," you said sultrily, your hand fingering his clothes as though you were considering undressing him.
Linkās hands gripped your hips; in the back of his head, he kept marveling at how strong you felt. Your changed appearance was incredible, you were finally healthy, vibrant and so damn beautiful.
His breathing was heavy, his heart racing as he stared down at you.
āYouāre breathtaking...ā he muttered, soft as a breeze.
You sighed against his chest, looking up at him with a beaming smile.
"Now I know you are lying. Out of the two of us, itās clear that you are the pretty one."
Feeling his heart racing, Linkās arms wound up tighter around you as he chuckled, resolutely shaking his head at your words. You had no idea how captivating you were. You were absolutely perfect to him, and you didnāt even know it.
āThereās no way thatās true⦠have you looked in a mirror lately? Youāre flawlessā¦ā he praised.
"Flatterer!" I laughed, slapping him playfully in the pectoral. "I'm too big now for that!"
He laughed at your words, his hands gently running along your sides, feeling every inch of your body as he held you close to him.
āAbsolutely not⦠youāre perfectā¦ā
He placed a kiss on the top of your head, practically enveloping you with his body.
"I didn't expect to be so lucky when I came here," he could feel you say against his neck. You sighed, sounding absolutely elated. "I'm hitched with a perfect man... and I'm going to have his kid in a world of fantasy. Not even in my best dreams did I think I could feel this happy about anything."
He stiffened, his hands clutching you to him even tighter.
āIf this is a dream,ā he muttered, sounding pained at the thought, āI hope I stay dreaming.ā
āI'm right there with you. I love you so much, darling..."
Link pulled away from you, looking right into your eyes with a fierce shine.
"You are worth it all," he said, the truth in his words unmistakable.
And it was true. He would sacrifice all- he would give everything up if he could retain this. You. Just you. That's all he wanted.
The Triforce was gone. For good or evil, its spell had been cast as soon as heād placed his dearest wish into it... And now he was left with you. The love of his life, healthy, and with his child inside you, on the verge of becoming a new family.
The feeling of absolute bliss was nearly overwhelming. You were his, all his, and there was nothing in the world that could take you away from him.
āYou are my world...ā
