Improvement of the Face and Neck â Minimally Invasive Options.
Over the past two years, I've had the pleasure of working with the BodyTite radio frequency system. Radio frequency energy is very safe, well understood and precise. It is more flexible than lasers or other light based technology, though it is still accessible and affordable. It has been a huge advancement in the field and can produce great results using a less invasive approach. The BodyTite system can be used on many areas of the body, but I'm going to focus this post on its use for face and neck treatments.
FaceTite and NeckTite is what I use on my patients when they neither need nor want a full face and/or neck lift. While it doesn't produce the same results as a full lift, it is a leap beyond laser treatment and provides a great middle ground. I feel it is the best and newest option available to improve face and neck appearance and signs of aging. It is much less invasive than traditional surgery, recovery time is significantly reduced, it is more affordable and it can achieve outstanding results.
FaceTite is used to smooth and tighten the face, there is no fat removal involved. FaceTite works by gently warming up the skin from beneath, stimulating contraction of the collagen fibers as well as a laying down of new collagen. NeckTite goes one step further by gently removing fat in addition to tightening and contouring.
These procedures are done through small incisions and can be performed under local anesthetic, usually with light sedation for comfort. The recover time is typically about a week and most patients will experience some bruising and swelling afterwards. Generally a few days after the procedure, people look a little puffy but it is usually something that can be concealed by make-up.
Another option using the BodyTite system is a surface treatment called Fractora. Fractora addresses changes in the skin surface such as texture, wrinkles and discolouration. It's fractional resurfacing but using radio frequency technology. In the past, these resurfacing treatments have been quite punishing. Because Fractora treatments work on a grid pattern, the healing and recovery is much quicker. It can be performed on its own as a treatment by our esthetician using only topical anesthetic cream. But I often use Fractora in collaboration with the Neck and FaceTite treatments where I can use more powerful settings, yielding more dramatic results, since the patient is already under local anesthetic.
If you are interested in discussing any of these options further, please feel free to contact my clinic to book a consultation. Together, we can determine the best plan for your unique needs.
