It had been a few days since they had landed in Wakanda for some much needed rest and relaxation. Not that the latter was something Steve would find much of even in a place as secure as this, but he did his best to trust the safety and securty that T’Challa so kindly offered. Such comfort, of course, often came from one thing and one thing only. Bucky Barnes. The man’s presence had an uncanny ability to relax Steve in a way he could never truly understand and these days he didn’t need the explanation. He was merely grateful for the feelings that came with it.
His first few days here had been reaquainting himself with Wakanda and the things that had changed in his absence, always keen to offer his services should they be required in a time of need. T’Challa had been amused by the offer, and quickly sent Steve away with firm regal instruction to relax and enjoy some time simply resting.
Which, after a few days of catching up with people he had missed, was why he was now seeking out the one person he needed to see, more than he needed air. While returning here had been his own choice, he never really felt quite at home until he had looked into a certain pair of stunning eyes and drawn his beloved into his arms. Even if Bucky didn’t remember the certain intimate parts of their relationship, Steve certainly did. A secret he kept however, you couldn’t tell someone that they loved you.
“Buck..?” Steve slowly picked his way across the gravel path towards the small house, not wanting to startle his friend too greatly with his unanounced visit.
