Stein waited in the dark, the only sound audible being the faint, droning hum of the small computer screen that was situated before him. It was a typical situation for him to be in... the doctor, waiting patiently in his office, knowing that someone would come.
Except this time, it wouldn't be fortune that visited him.
He had sent a message to a certain Cain Hargreaves concerning the good Count's physical examination... of course, it was all a lie, for Stein had been previously contacted by Vincent Phantomhive, who had given him a hint: it seemed that the very same Count who was to visit the doctor's office only a bit later had been sneaking around, collecting clues about the murders that Franken had committed.
Of course, Stein had no idea that he was actually the one being tricked -- but that would come later.
Slowly, he reached one hand up to the bolt that went through his grey head, pale fingers wrapping about the metal as he turned the device, making a cranking noise with each spin.Â
It was all.. so typical. But he only had some time to wait. Perhaps little time. Then the young man would visit him, and Stein would be able to entertain himself once more. He could only hope that this time, the fight would be exciting for him. Maybe it would even prove to be a challenge.
