This week’s Females of Metal Friday is a very special post. This one is the 50th FoMF post and it is an extra special one! Because this post is a collaboration with my very good friend, Sophie Grace @sophiegracesblog. Without her encouragement and support, these posts wouldn’t have happened and continued for this long. So, a huge thank you to Sophie!
I present this week’s Females of Metal Friday is the one and only: Yasmine Liverneaux Belkhodja of Face Yourself.

Yasmine Liverneaux Belkhodja: The first time I heard Face Yourself; I honestly thought they'd forgotten to mention that Will Ramos was a guest vocalist. But no. It was Yasmine. Her incredible range, from Goblin like squeals, to clean, to gutturals, to deeper gutturals that sound as though a demon is coming for your soul through your headphones, blew me away!! I know it's not unusual to see female vocalists switching from clean to screams in modern metal, but Yasmine is truly amazing! That first listen was the aptly named Unhinged, 3 minutes and 33 seconds of mayhem! By the time I'd heard Guillotine, Primal, Predatory, Death Reflection and Ov Agony, I was hooked! Yasmine is blazing a trail for the next brigade of female metalcore and deathcore vocalists! If you like your metal fast and brutal, with a sprinkling of terrifying vocals, Yasmine and Face Yourself are definitely for you! They've yet to release a full album, but they've put out three EPs and various singles, beginning with their self-titled EP in 2023. Long live metal!

Wow! How amazing is that!? Do I really have to follow that amazing write up? I think I’ll provide a little detail and info on the band. Face Yourself is a deathcore metal band based out of New York. Yasmine, from France joined members lead guitarist Dave Ricco, guitarists Corey Doremus and Thomas Cardone, bassist Kyle Muenzner, and drummer Eric DiCarlo from New Jersey and Colorado. Their latest EP Fury is set to come out this month! I’m a bit confused about the release date. The bands website says the 16th, but Amazon music says the 26th. It would be an awesome coincidence if the release of their new EP coincides with this FoMF post!!
EDIT: Their new album Fury has dropped on Prime this morning! I already have it 😉😉😁😁
