Say hello to the fabulous Deonna :) My name is Deonna and I am on the hair journey of a lifetime. I started my hair journey just by not having perms for about 6 months and I started experiencing a lot of growth in my roots. About a month later I decided it was time to cut all of the chemical ends off . They were dead and stringy and really stiff so I did the big chop . The big chop was a drastic change for me . I was so use to hair length that touched my shoulders or longer but this time I had hair that barely reached my ears ! It took me a little while to get use to this short style but I worked with it the best I could . To help my hair grow i stopped with heat ! The only source of heat that touched my hair was the sun lol. I washed and deep conditioned every 2 weeks, did hot oil treatments twice a month, I tried other treatments such as the mayonnaise treatment and the egg treatment and I just kept my hair moisturized every day with a couple of oils such as tea tree and jojoba because for some reason my hair was so dry and it would eat up the oil within a day ! I also wore my hair in many protective styles that I did all by myself .. Yay me ! Lol . Whether it was with weave or just my regular natural I always kept up with it. About a year and a couple months later(now) my hair , when it is stretched is shoulder length😌.. But I have a lot of shrinkage so when it shrinks it's just below my ear . I love my hair sooooo much I loved it before I chopped it but I love it even more now that it is healthier and my curls are back . I am still on this very long hair journey watching my lengths get longer and longer hopefully by the end of 2016 my hair will be at my goal length just below my armpit. If you would like to see the hairstyles I have done and are still doing with my hair and weaves you can visit my new instagram @beautifully_naturall , thank you !

This is Maddie :) "I've always had curly/wavy hair, and once I got into middle school I decided I hated in and I straightened it every day on 6th grade. Once 7th grade started, my hair got so damaged that I stopped straightening it because it wouldn't even stay straight anymore, so I let it do its thing for a while, and then at the end of 7th grade, I got a pixie cut. I immediately fell in love but got a lot of hurtful comments because there's a lot of buzz that comes from cutting your hair short; "is she gay?" "It's just a phase." "She's too emotional!" And believe it or not I actually lost friends because of it. But my short hair ended up teaching me how to be confident. I can't hind behind bangs or a ponytail, my hair is my hair and it represents who I am, and how I'm not a person who just goes with the flow. If I hadn't cut my hair off, I don't think I would be the person I am today. " Follow her on Tumblr worriedaboutforever
