For a moment, Geralt hesitates to find the right words to say. He wants to say that isn't true but they both know it is. He can not belong to anyone, not completely. He is a Witcher, he belongs on the Path, not tied down no matter how much they like to play pretend.

But he can promise her one thing, at the very least. There are parts of him that do belong to her. Parts of him that will never belong to another for as long as he will live.

Nothing hit as good after a violent end to an investigation as a long, hot shower. By the time he emerged from the heated water, there was a thick steam mist that fogged up the mirror. A towel was wrapped tightly around his waist and he carried a tool with his left hand.

"Hey, can't see a damned thing in that mirror. Mind giving me a hand with, uh..." Free hand gestured up to his face. Been a few weeks since he'd given any mind to his horns and they needed a decent filing down to even them out, knock out the new growth.

“I love you,” He breathed out the words with ease. With just the slightest widen of his eyes, though, it was clear that he hadn’t even expected to say them. Heat rushing to his cheeks, the young man could feel himself floundering.

It wasn’t a lie. No, in fact perhaps it was far too truthful.

Buffy and Hope didn't always have to go into town to get coffee or milkshakes or whatever, but once in a while, Buffy liked to get off campus away from the school and the slayer compound and she took her stepdaughter with her because she thought it would be a good relief for her as well. They had chosen a table outside the Grill. Buffy couldn't help noticing a familiar face on a newspaper someone was reading as well. A face she hadn't seen in 25 years. Buffy quickly got up and walked over to the person at the table. "You done with this?" She didn't both waiting for an answer as she grabbed the paper out of the person's hands.

"Yeah, hi, uh, kind of reading that?" the former owner of the paper called out to the blond slayer as she walked back to the table and sat across from Hope, her eyes glued to the article that had caught her eye. "Candidates For Mayor This Election," the headline read. Apparently, Mayor Donovan was stepping down and an article about the candidates was necessary. They showed the picture of the candidates and their names underneath.

Buffy zeroed in on one picture in particular. She was hoping her mind was playing tricks on her, but she wasn't. One of the candidates was someone who she hadn't seen in 25 years. Her blood turned cold and she turned pale as she read the name below the picture:

“he is so tiny,” viktor whispered as he held the lupin baby in his arms. the baby fever had sent him in overdrive but he wasn’t about to share that with hermione. she had bigger and more important things to do than for them to have kids. not that they ever talked about it--seriously that is. she was going to be minister of magic one day soon and he was nothing but a quidditch has been. and that was fine, one day he’ll be happy to be called “hermione granger’s baby daddy.”

So they were having the baby conversation now, with Teddy changing hair colour as he dreamed of--what dud babies dream of? Consider his pout, probably of having some milk.

"He definitely got his mom's hair so..." he smiled reaching for Teddy's little head and caressing it softly. "I think ours will probably be bigger because I'm tall but with your hair and brains my eyes and Quidditch skills .At least I hope," he only half teased, hoping their kids will happen, he only knew he'd love them as much as he loved Mione.
