[in the Great Hall, as breakfast is taking place]

Dean: Just go over and talk to them, mate. They're not gonna murder you. You faced You-Know-Who down with less hesitation.

Harry: Yeah, well... He just wanted to off me because of the prophecy, so he could take over the Wizarding World, didn't he? It was nothing personal with Voldemort.

Dean: Nothing personal? He murdered your parents!

Harry: Well that's reason for me to fight him, not the other way around, in'nit? I put at least half of the Slytherin's parents in Azkaban. They've got reason to hold a grudge.

Dean: (rolling his eyes) This was your idea, Harry. Just go over there. They're not gonna curse you with all the teachers up at the head table. And remember, Malfoy is their leader.

Harry: How dense do you think I am?

Dean: You want me to answer that?

What a drag, an absolute miserable drag. If he was in a worse mood, Kylo would have thrown his phone across the rented luxury apartment, not caring that it would cost him not only his means of communication but probably a vase that wasn’t even his to begin with. How was it his fault that the so-called “best actress in the bizz” didn’t agree with Kylo’s demands? It was his movie trilogy, he had been the star for fucking years, but in comes this fresh face and suddenly he had to budge?! Nope. She obviously wasn’t that great if she walked out on the project. No one else saw it that way, not when he was put in charge to find someone who matched what the casting director wanted but someone Kylo was also able to at least be acquainted with while not wanting to rip their heads off. 

He needed a drink, he couldn’t take that responsibility, not sober at least. 

Was it strange that that Luca still wore his black ribbon neatly on his blazer despite the fact that he was going to meet his finacee for the first time? Possibly. Now, why was that such a questionable thing? Black ribbons were worn for respect and mourning. He was respecting and mourning someone he knew, someone who was important to him. However, when that someone was engaged with your current fiancee? Well, that made things a bit more complicated. More so when you’re getting married for the same reason. It was all business, as sour as it may have sounded. It was politics, a treated, an aid. 

Honestly, Luca had never been in a rush to marry, but he also was never first in line to the throne, no no, that went to his brother-- the oldest. However, that left him open to call on when his country needed help, and well, it seemed to be mutual. 

Luca moved the ribbon, pinning it under his blazer and onto his shirt instead. He didn’t want to appear as though he was in a more vulnerable place than his wife-to-be was. 

Once it was time, Luca was led to a large sitting area where he was to wait for Shioban.

The room was abuzz as judges, artists, and viewers alike wandered about. Judges talked amongst themselves as they viewed each display. Some of the displays were singular pieces, others were composed of multiple mediums. Like many of the other artists, Kylo wandered nervously, holding back the urge to thrash from his anxiety. As always he pushed it back, causing his jaw to clench along with his fists. He wasn’t the most patient man, so watching as the judges took their time going over each and every detail of mediocre work was quite exhausting. 

Phasma, if she wasn’t one to also put up a facade of maturity, almost laughed out loud. She was smarter than that though, she knew that any indication of Kylo’s irritation would have resulted in an outburst, which no one wanted. She didn’t understand why he put so much stake into the showcase. The winner won $2,000 in grant money, but Kylo didn’t need it. Was it just to stroke his own ego? Phasma settled on that answer. 

“You didn’t have to come, Phasma,” Kylo stated evenly, catching her attention. He didn’t look at her, he looked forward, scanning the collection that was displayed by his. 

“And miss the opportunity to watch you strangle a smile for the camera?” She scoffed. “I wouldn’t miss it.”

Just moments ago, Ben swore that his last breath would be taken as he gave Rey life again. Moments ago, he was okay with that, not fully, but he understood that the sacrifice was worth it. He thought that his last few moments would have been him cradling the precious, limp form of the woman who had saved him first. 

Just moments ago, he didn’t think that Rey would have sat up, her eyes with stars in them again, full of life. But they were. She stared up at him in disbelief and... happiness? That in itself was enough to make his weak heart melt. Ben did his best to take in every single moment, every little description of her face. If he were to die right then and there, at least the last thing he would remember would be the expression Rey wore when he had brought her back to the galaxy. However, fate seemed to have something else in mind, didn’t it? Her expression changed and she leaned closer. Her breath hit his skin and as though it was second nature, he leaned in as well. 

The new silence in his mind was jarring. For years Kylo had someone’s words in his ears, willing him closer and closer towards the dark side. Now that Snoke was gone, the voice had become quiet. There was a buzz, but it was so soft that he hardly realized it was there. That being said, he could not worry about the silence, he needed to rebuild the First Order, finish what his grandfather had started. He also needed to find the scavenger, Rey. 

Finding Rey should not have been the task it had become, they were connected, much to his late masters’ dismay. 

Well, maybe it was for the best. Maybe the whisper was not as unimportant as he thought it to be? 

So many thoughts that paralleled one another, so many that did not see eye-to-eye. Was it weak of him to think, even if just for a moment, that he needed some rest? At least mentally. Was that why he found himself locked in his quarters again? Away from the constant back and forth of the general? 

His eyes were closed and his breathing slowed as he finally willed himself to meditate.

For once, Harmony didn’t want to be in New York. While in Ohio, she was able to relax and do nothing. There was no working, no talking up sales, no arguments. She was at peace, though it didn’t last. She was dragged along in the all-too familiar RV to go back to New York and work. She couldn’t and should complain all too much, if it weren’t for her new ‘job’ she would have still been on the streets doing lord knows what. Nonetheless, she was allowed to be human and groan about wanting a break, she’d been working nonstop for months. Maybe the strange meal ticket she had been given was the key to that break? 

Lucas had left the RV and Harmony at the usual park, the crew who worked the RV parked already greeted Harmony by name at this point. It was normal for him to go to the more dangerous drop offs on his own, thus leaving the young woman to her own devices. Usually, that meant she would watch videos, go on walks around the park’s property, etc. However, the meal ticket called her. Why say no to free food? She changed out of her lounge-wear and into a more appropriate attire-- and something that wouldn’t make her melt in the heat.
