I really truly- like honestly wtf was that cliffhanger. I'm not against it as a whole, except we "learned" things about his father several times throughout this book!

So not only did we just randomly introduce new ideas and shit about Kingfisher's father throughout the book, BUT IT WAS JUST FALSE. CAUSE APPARENTLY HE IS DRAGONBORN? ISN'T THAT WHAT IS IMPLIED BY THIS CLIFFHANGER?

And yeah- now we are just in it with witches and sigils, dragons, a rotting plague with unkillable monsters. Vampire cures. Like if I really think about it, was it REALLY that many things? Maybe not- but it wasn't introduced correctly. IDK how it could be fixed, but the plot or writing just is not correct. I can't properly articulate why, it just isn't it.

The end really hijacked my thoughts. Lets return back to my thoughts that occurred throughout the book. Dual POV? IDK. The beginning of the book would've been really boring without Kingfisher's POV, but at the same time now we've ruined all the mystery.

And we also created a knowledge gap, where we learned things as the reader from Kingfisher's perspective, but then Saeris gets surprised later. And then I have to double take, like I thought Saeris knew? Nope I guess that was Fisher's POV? IDK. Not great but not the worst.

They had me going with Archer's near-death. And IDK, I feel like Onyx should've died. Where are the consequences here. I guess Everlayne is still unconscious, and possibly unsaveable. I am also really interested in Taledius and his arc. That was probably one of my favorite side plot happenings. I also like the ancient thing that is following Saeris, the.. Havrick? Haxv.. yup.

-thing this book introduces. I simultaneously hate and love the fact that Kingfisher has a true name and we found it. But also, like it feels so weird to just call him it all of a sudden. But at the same time it makes so much sense to do so.

-had fucked everything up. I was like girl, you had one fucking job. Don't tell Fisher about the book. It is literally the answer to the spreading rot, and she risked everything by telling him.

THANK THE GODS, FISHER'S MOM IS GOOD AT HER JOB. She's like Fisher, your girlfriend is going to be fucking stupid and show you the goddamn book anyway. GIVE IT BACK.

INCREDIBLE! WHY DID THEY BOTH JUST SAY YOU FEEL INCREDIBLE, YOU TASTE INCREDIBLE. WHY ARE THEIR EXCLAMATION POINTS LMAO!!!!!!!!

My brain just immediately goes like stereotypical anime male, "Fuck! You taste incredible!" like EUREKA MOMENT. Omg I am dying, I am not reading this correctly.
