Very last Mustang P-51D/F-51D in operational service with the US Army in a relegated function as a chase plane for fast Helicopter testingn and a very first F-15 Eagle that came in active service 2 years later in Jan. 1976, while it made its maiden flight on July 1972.

27 January 1957. The final North American Aviation P-51 Mustangs in squadron service with the United States Air Force were retired from the 167th Fighter Bomber Squadron, West Virginia Air National Guard.
