The Fallen Angels

Ok, so a lot of people don't understand why I don't like Ezekiel. To be honest, I'm generally not a huge fan on new characters on Supernatural, because they always die or go evil, and I get really sad. But something about Ezekiel rubs me wrong, and I'll give you the logical, factual reasons why. If I'm proven wrong and Ezekiel is good and beautiful, then I will be so happy, because I want to love him. If not... well at least I was prepared!

OK, so Ezekiel. First off, the name just didn't sit right with me. There is no record of an angel named Ezekiel. Biblically, Ezekiel was the name of a prophet who revealed prophecies regarding the Israelites and Jews. He also has writings in his book regarding the fall of Lucifer from heaven. Now all of this info about Lucifer being cast out of heaven put aside, Ezekiel never became an angel. He was canonized as a saint, but there is no angel with this name.

BUT, closely related to the name Ezekiel, is the name Ezeqeel. It is pronounced exactly the same way, and means the same (God Strengthens). But, unlike being a prophet of the lord, Ezeqeel was an angel known as a Watcher or a Grigori. There were 200 Watchers total, but eleven of them are mentioned by name in both The Book of Enoch, and The Book of Jubilees. They are: Armaros, Araqiel, Azazel, Baraqijal, Ezeqeel, Gadreel, Kokabel, Penemue, Sariel, Semjaza, and Shamshiel. Each of them was supposed to protect and instruct children of men, but they fell from grace because they descended to earth and started taking wives and producing Nephilim. Seeing these acts being performed, God sends some the the archangels to punish the Watchers, and others to warn Noah that the earth has to be destroyed because the Nephilim are destroying the purity of his creations. 

Now, if we look at "complete" lists of known demons compiled from multiple sources, religions, and mythologies, we can see familiar names such as Abaddon, Alastor, Azazel, Lilith, Lucifer, ect... and in many mythologies, the fallen angels of the Grigori are included in these lists.
