Parents are fucking responsible for their children’s mental health. Children get shaped from their environment. Kids aren’t born with a moral compass. They aren’t good or bad they are more like a blank canvas. Touya obviously worshiped his father and just got tossed aside. The fact that touya showed so many red flags and his parents didn’t act on it actually says enough. This kid started self harming at the age of 5-8 and his father didn’t even bat an eye on it. And no Endeavor didn’t really care for him his children were only a tool for his goals. I mean he literally said so himself we don’t pull this shit out of our asses.

So what is wrong with people saying „dabi chose to be a villain only for his petty revenge” „He always was a brat throwing tantrums” „Endeavor never hurt touya he did it himself“ „Endeavor abused his whole family but he is at least trying, dabi is already to far gone for forgiveness.“

Also if dabi only gets treated as a tool for endeavors redemption I will lose it for real.

Absolutely agree with what you said. It was soo obvious he wasn’t alright, especially when he tried to kill his literal baby brother, and yet no one thought to maybe get him a therapist or something??? Touya was never treated right and as a child couldn’t exactly do anything about that. If he had actually died, people would be all sympathetic and act like this was some huge tragedy, but because his pain turned into anger people blame him just because he’s an “adult” now.

I really hope people start learning more about how the human brain works and how abuse affects it.
