This is my video tutorial on how I do winged eye liner!! (And yes I am wrapped up in a blanket in this video.)Â
With my almondy hooded eyes, I like to do a more tilted UP wing, to give my eyes more of a lift, and a more awake look!!
So I start on the corner where my lower lashline and end of my upper lashline meet, And I do a line straight UP there.
Then I go to the tip of the line, and then twist my pen eye liner around, and do a line DOWN connecting my point to my upper lashline!!
Then I’m left with a empty wing!! I then go to my inner corner, where on my more hooded eye/where my skin naturally folds over my inner corner, I make the line thicker there, and do little strokes bringing it back to connect to the blank wing!!
From there, I just do strokes to fill everything in!
I recommend for beginners:
The pen liner I used, it’s physicians formula eye booster. It’s a BRUSH tip, NOT a felt tip. And it’s very tapered so It’s SO easy to get nice small little flicks with it!!
I recommend working in small strokes when you’re a beginner too. So there’s LESS to clean up if you have a hand tremor and make a mistake!!
I also STRONGLY recommend for fellow hooded eye’d peeps to look STRAIGHT at the mirror. Don’t tilt your head up or down!! this way you wont end up with a SUPER thick line that covers all of your hard work on your eye shadow.
Also, I find it A LOT easier to apply eye liner AFTER I do mascara!! I can’t really explain WHY or HOW. It’s just easier for my brush to get behind and not tangled in my lashes I guess!!
I also say this in the video, but I like to rest my pinky on my cheek bone, so give support for my shaky ass hands!!
I have un even eye shapes/hooded-ness as you see in the video. So I like to do one wing more thick than the other one, and I PERSONALLY don’t give a shit about getting the actual WINGS perfectly even. Because, my face overALL is super non-symmetrical!! If you have a similar face shape/problem. Don’t sweat!! You’re beautiful/handsome just the way you are tbh!!!
