But really, in the fic/AU I have already decided that adult!Ey-One will mentor the next generation of hybrids. The children will probably tease her a lot over how she was so close to participating in crucial historical moments but didn’t, also she will probably introduce herself as “the less cool hybrid with dark hair and a pentagon facet pink gem on her navel”

Ok but imagine canon-verse Ey-One, number one hater of Blue Diamond, meeting Separated Indigo Twins AU Blue aka “Blue Diamond”
(Blue has nothing to do with canon BD, she just took the name bc it was free for grabs in her verse)
So, I was thinking, Separated Indigo Twins AU but with Ey-One.
Pink and Yellow leave baby Blue in the Zoo so they can keep her human side alive. They probably just leave her there and go back to their Super Important Diamond Business. There are two possible scenarios:
- In canon, Ey-One is younger than Steven, so in this scenario Blue is the first hybrid the Zoo fam sees. They think for a while she is Indigo Diamond, but they adjust their machines to get data from her and figure Blue is just Blue. Until they do, everyone is careful with what they say so Indigo Diamond wouldn’t learn about the rebels, but after they are just chill. Blue makes friends with everyone and is taught as if she was a Zoo child. Ey-One’s mother has the idea of having a child after seeing Blue. Ey-One and Blue were close as sisters before Blue is sent to Homeworld.
- Let’s change the age. Ey-One already existed, still a baby, when Blue arrived. The Zoo fam already knows how to take care of a hybrid kid. Everyone is chill with Blue, she and Ey-One are close as sisters.
I like this, I like Blue having human friends and a half gem friend. This already makes her situation better than her mother’s who “didn’t have friends” (it’s complex) and also even in space she having somewhere where she can be human
