A lot of you guessed correctly, that Yu-san is Yue Lao-- or  Yuè Xià Lǎorén (The Old Man Under the Moon) the God of Marriage and responsible for determining red strings of fate. Of course he’s not an old man here, and the reason for that is purely to throw people off a little. But I figured, they’re gods so why can’t they just change their appearance at will. Jun isn’t a specific goddess, but she IS a celestial being (or Tennin/Tennyo). So, kudos!

Extra backstory!!! Jun was curious and wanted a day in the Mortal world, taking off her robes to don a mortal disguise. However, she loses them and is horrified to learn that they happen to be picked up by Hiroshi. She knows the stories of other Tennin who have been trapped by Mortals and forced to marry them by stealing their robe, preventing them from returning to heaven. Understandably, she’s wary. Hiroshi immediately recognizes that she’s a heavenly being, but instead of keeping the robe, simply returns them. Surprised by his kindness and honesty, Jun is instantly smitten. And you know the rest.
