of course they would have a lot to talk about with the band, but they could talk about general mermaid matters, too. maybe bella could ask him about mako island, and lewis could pepper her with questions about her own transformation and how she's managed to keep the secret for so long. he would characteristically overstep and ask invasive questions and probably have to apologise later. they have similar dispositions and senses of humour, both reserved, thoughtful, and introspective. i get that the writers probably weren't that invested in developing their relationship since lewis would make his departure at the halfway point of the season. still, the more i think about it, the more i'm sure the pair would get on extraordinarily well
