I disagree with Narrator in a very fundamental and philosophical level, but you know, even if I agreed 100% with his worldview and the reality he wants to bring about, I’d still think he’s wrong for taking matters into his own hands and changing THE VERY FABRIC OF REALITY affecting people in the entire universe, simply because HE thinks he knows what best for the world.

Like– that’s why I find him so fascinating, it’s not only the fear of death or disgust towards the very concept of change (tho that is very funny and interesting in its own right), but the utter arrogance to champion himself Savior of the World without EVER considering that maybe– just maybe, people might not agree with what he plans to do.

Like. Hubris indeed, and he even has the gall to say, “you can still do what you must and kill her” when we call him out on it. Like. Wow. I want to study this guy under a microscope.

Soren’s Future (and Possible Future Struggles)

While my hope for future seasons is for Soren to become a dragon rider, my main want for Soren’s arc, is to have Soren grow beyond his desire of being a Crownguard. There are more ways to protect Ezran and Katolis than just being a Crownguard.

I want him to, now that he’s away from being in Viren and Claudia’s shadows and has a bit more freedom, to slowly learn about himself and discover what he ACTUALLY wants for himself. Did he actually become a Crownguard because that’s what he genuinely wanted or did he just want to make his dad proud of him and knew that serving and being close with the royal family would make Viren happy?

I feel like with, what he probably views as, his failure to protect the king from being assassinated and failure of doing his duty, along with the fact that he’d feel guilty for doing what his dad wanted him to do for a long time; he’ll end up feeling like he doesn’t deserve to be a Crownguard.

This along with all the other traumatic experiences that he went through ,in the span of a WEEK no less, tells me that he’s in for a rough mental and emotional time, at least in S4. We get glimpses of this in the Through the Moon comic during his convo with Rayla. Which is great because that means they know that Soren is gonna struggle with these new feelings and they show it. Hopefully they display it in the show too.

Not to mention, something tells me he’s gonna have to deal with the stigma of being Viren’s son. After all, everyone saw him march with the army to Xadia, but no one besides the main cast saw him betray Viren and switch sides (officially).

Oh boy, Soren is in for a rough time. Hope they don’t speed through it or hand wave it off with a “He knows he did the right thing, so its okay, he’ll get over it soon and be back to “normal”!”

If doing the right thing was as easy as that, everyone would do it. Not everything that is right is a clear cut choice with no consequences. The thing about life is that even if you make the right choice, you’ll still end up losing something in someway. Actions have consequences. Even good actions with good intentions.
