Today I noticed the beauty of the day. I noticed how the wind feels, how the light touches my meditation table, how the greenness of the tree presents the perfect background for all this.

Today, I opened my eyes to the present that is always here. Today I became aware of the now, and the endless gifts it holds.

Today, I notice all the tension my body holds from resisting the present moment for so long. I notice that Life cannot flow through me freely because I am standing in my own way. My mind is taking me to places I don’t want to go. My mind wants to distract me, but I am aware now.

Today, I see the calmness emanating from my ginger friend. Just looking at her teaches me about letting go.

Today, I appreciate the small things and the beauty of Being, and my heart aches as I think of all the preciousness I have missed. Because all this time I have been waiting for something big to happen…for something so big that changes me and my life. And all this time I have neglected to see beauty that continuously surrounds me.

Today, I understand that it’s all in the small things. It doesn't take much to be happy. It is very simple, actually.
