Developing Experiment 5
The outcome of my mod rock piece hasn’t done immensely well, I tried a better technique of emulsion and it still isn’t working properly. I believe its the cheap paint and a cheap printer ink as well! In previous experiments I had been using a better quality emulsion paint (which I don’t have) and a laser jet printer at uni which I think plays a part as well. I had to rub the emulsion of gently and even then it was getting damaged.
This is the outcome so far, I left it in the sun to soak abit and I worry the sun takes away the colour since I’ve took these photos but there’s nowhere else I can put this piece inside, so it has to stay outdoors for a while!
Although it didn’t come out as bright as I wanted the colours of the images to come through I still think it gives that faded/nostalgic look to the images, of age and wear to them!
I had left gaps to let some wire through the mod rock to leave places to hang items, such as doctors certificates, children’s clothes or toys and Polaroid’s to bring in their personal items onto the wall but I think I’m going to cover more of the gaps and leave smaller gaps for the items as I have left too big of a gap and its making the piece weak on some parts.
