The representation of black and brown people abroad is essential! It is important for people in other countries to physically see our faces and interact with us in ways they may never have thought they would. When my husband and I go out, we are often met with stares and even conversations about who we are and why we are in X country. People are always surprised by our answers and we love the reactions we get. Being present in other countries allows us to showcase our blackness and black culture in so many different ways. Some may be contrary to what American media may promote and sometimes, if I am honest, we may play right into those same stereotypes because we are multi-faceted and do not fit into neatly packaged boxes, especially my husband, he is crazy (his words not mine 😉). When the world is open to travel again, I urge you to share your light, purpose, and stories by traveling and moving to other countries (with the proper research and preparation, of course). Our willingness to do all of these things have not only given those we interact with a glimpse into who we are, but we have also gained so much from those same people and experiences. . . . . . . . #expatinida #blackfacesindopeplaces #traveltolive #indiagram #blacktravelblogger #foreignerinindia #expatliving #travelindiagram #travelindiadiaries #mytravelcrush #travelisthenewclub #weworktotravel #melanintravel #blackgirlstraveltoo #blackvoyageurs #blacktravelblogger #blackwomentravel #wegotoo #travelista #queensabroad #blackandabroad #blacktraveljourney #blackgirltravelslay #blackexpats #travellingcouplegoals #creativecouple #blackguystraveltoo #blackandabroad (at India) https://www.instagram.com/p/CBLcqlApXTr/?igshid=1r9efyk6w9kzk
