Atkins and Exercise
There is a lot of attention paid in the Atkins diet plan towards food and cooking. It’s true that your food choices on the diet are of utmost importance. But a lot of people make the mistake of ignoring exercise. The newly released Atkins food pyramid shows the importance of exercise. It shows an increase in food options with increased activity. Exercise is important on the Atkins diet, and important for everyone’s overall health. eptwfu01 filter replacement
Exercise is beneficial to body, mind and soul. It has many major benefits, even at limited levels. It not only burns fat but it boosts your metabolism and increases circulation. Daily exercise helps your body eliminate toxins through sweat glands and lymph systems. It is especially important to all low-carb weight loss programs because it regulates blood sugar levels.
Physical exercise is essential for Atkins diet success. Without exercise, your body isn’t configured to process carbohydrates successfully. Research has shown that sedentary individuals have extreme insulin reactions to even moderate amounts of carbohydrates. This means that exercise doesn’t only help you lose weight, it will help you keep it off too. Exercise will teach your body how to process the carbohydrates in your diet. When you exercise regularly, you抣l be able to eat more carbohydrates over time because your body will use them efficiently. WHIRLPOOL W10413645
There are two basic types of exercise: aerobic exercise and anaerobic exercise. The best regimen combines these two forms each week.
Aerobic exercise’s primary goal is to increase your heart rate. This causes your body to consume more oxygen and it gives all of your cells a fresh supply of oxygen. If you’re been without physical activity for a while, many of those cells have been deprived. Aerobic exercise will regenerate them and help you feel better in times when you aren’t exercising.
If you’re been inactive for a while, it may take some time to get used to your new aerobic workouts. You may want to get some advice from your primary care doctor or a professional aerobics instructor. Make sure to start slowly to give yourself time to adjust to your new movements. It’s essential that you learn how to stretch and warm up correctly in order to avoid muscle strain. Some good beginning aerobic activities include walking, golf, tennis and dancing. These activities won抰 cause a lot of strain on your body, but they will get your heart moving. Start slowly and set small goals for yourself. For example, if you are starting a walking program begin by walking four blocks. Then increase your training to five blocks, then six. Your body will respond well to the exercise all your body was meant to move! eptwfu01 filter replacement
Anaerobic exercise includes any activity that isn’t technically aerobic. Most of the exercises in this category build muscle mass. Weightlifting and strength training are examples of anaerobic exercises. Working out with weights is an important part of losing weight. As you lose fat, you抣l need to replace it with muscle in order to stay lean. Don’t be afraid of working out with weights. You won抰 need to become a bodybuilder. Weight bearing exercises like isometrics and resistance training will help improve your bone density, your posture and your fat burning potential.
If an exercise program is not part of your weight loss efforts, you are setting yourself up for failure. Make a commitment to incorporating exercise into your weight loss efforts and you抣l see the results immediately. W10295370A water filters

Summing Up My 2012 Resolutions
I feel like over the past week or two I've thrown a lot of "resolutions" out there for 2012 and I need to sum them up somewhere (I put "resolutions" in quotations because I think of them more as "To-Do" items because that way my brain categorizes them as something I need to get done every day and hence it will become a habit and hence it will become a part of my routine and then hence it will be my life. Yes, I like using the word hence in place of commas and you're right, my brain functions in mysterious ways).
I plan on printing this out, plastering it on my bedroom door and then adding to it as I see fit.
Hokay, so where do I begin...
1. EAT HEALTHY: This encompasses quite a bit I would like to accomplish. Eating less red meat, eating more fish, getting my daily servings of fruits and veggies, drinking green tea, drink more lemon water, have breakfast fruit smoothies, etc.
2. EXERCISE: Black & white. I don't do it now, I want to do it ALL THE TIME this year and for the rest of my life. Also include, stretching morning and night.
3. GET AT LEAST 9 HOURS OF SLEEP PER NIGHT: Weekends not included. When I'm hungover I only sleep like 6 or 7 hours and then my body is begging me to get up chug water and pop some aspirin. Naps are my friend during the weekend.
4. NO MORE DINNER TIME SNACKS: Unless it's popcorn or before 7pm I plan on not eating after dinner. This should be easy for me, hopeIdidn'tjustjinxmyself.
5. DEJUNK MY CABINETS: Don't buy junky food, don't eat junky food. Surround myself with health. (How earthy, crunchy did I just sound? Lovesit.)
6. HAVE HEALTHY HANGOVERS: Yay for alliterations! Boo for oxymorons. I realize that binge drinking on the weekend is not healthy so 'have a healthy hangover' makes no sense. But ya know what? I'm young & living in the city and you only live once and I want to have as much fun as possible for as long as it's socially acceptable. And for me, that means going out with my family and friends and throwing back some drinks and doing ridiculous things. So get over it world. I will conquer you by having healthy (or healthier) hangovers. Now step off.
7. SCALE DOWN MY PLATE SIZE: Small plates, smaller servings, healthier me.
8. GIVE UP MUFFINS AND BAGELS AND M&Ms: Okay so I'm not about giving up a food completely because it is just unrealistic and I fully believe it makes you want/crave said food more. Muffins, bagels, and M&Ms are not food items that I consume on a frequent basis. I enjoy a good blueberry muffin probably 2-3 times a month. Well no more! Of course, if I'm ever running late to work and I have no other breakfast option I might succumb to the thrill of a blueberry muffin, but I will try my hardest to resist. What I'm saying is, I'm giving up these foods but I'm not going to beat myself up if I end up eating them here and there throughout the year.
9. BE A SMARTER DRINKER: Okay so you're probably thinking, "All this bitch does is defend her right to be a drunk and now she wants to be a smarter drinker? Jump of that high horse loser". But listen, I drink, I drink a lot, and I like it. But I don't like hangovers and I don't like getting so drunk that I do embarrassing things (come hang out with me and my friends, you'll see).
I want to control my drinking so I can maintain that brilliant buzz, that happy state of "I'm drunk and happy and love my friends and family and laugh and oh my god what you just said is so freaking funny let's giggle for far too long" and "I'm sober to know when I need to sober up and deal with a situation and maybe drink some more water while I'm at it and no that shot is not a good idea so please don't buy me one kind sir" and "I'm want to drunk-text this cute boy but wait I'm kind of sober so maybe I shouldn't, but oh em gee I really want to, okay I'm just going to text 'Hi' and nothing else". Ya know that state of being buzzed? It's the bestest.
Anyways, more water and food for me when drinking and less shots and pounding 6 beers in an hour.
Cheers to 2012 you weirdos!
