Commitment. No “ifs” ands or “buts” about it, honestly.
but... wait, I am... confused
(I sincerely hope this isn't offending you, I just honestly want to see if I can figure this out)
are there "ifs" or "buts" about it before the marriage?
does the marriage somehow change the relationship?
i mean, people are still the same before and after the ceremony, they can still break up, it just takes more documents at that point in time.
commitment is like, a thing that's internal, right? it's the state of the relationship from the inside, not the level of a video-game pre and post marriage? so how does marriage upgrade commitment?

We spent less than a 1K getting married. I bought a dress, he got a smart looking suit. We got married under a tree behind the apartment building. What money? It has nothing to do with money.
That sounds cool to me :)
See, the weird thing is, I know a TON of people who wouldn't call it a "wedding". A lot of people, even if you so much as mention marriage, think of nothing else but the stereotypical church and after service and etc. And lack of adherence to those rules makes them scoff at people and say "yeah, but that's not a wedding". I've... I've literally come up with that before.
But like I said, it's great that you're happy.
I just don't get it - if it has nothing to do with money, what does it have to do with? (no, really, I'm just... curious?)

Some people fall in love right away. I know I did. Married at 20, 6 months into the relationship. It happens, and sometimes it works out.
(totally not trying to put own your relationship, it's great that you're happy)
but
why, if you were already in love, get married that quickly? i mean, if you're in that thing called love, you're supposedly already know you're staying together? why jump right into the money-spending thing?
