Executing Strategy
I am back with another update form my social media class. Before I get to the update, I hate how long semesters are. CPP needs to go back to the quarter system.Â
This week was interesting because we learned about the importance of strategy and goal setting in marketing. I questioned whether goal setting is more important than strategy. I was thinking about it a lot and I think that the strategy is more important because it would be easier to set goals and achieve goals. Of course, both are imperative in Marketing, but a balance of both is the perfect combination.Â
We also learned, about the different types of media. They are owned, social, paid and earned media. Owned media consist of platforms or channels where brands create, manage and control their own media. Social media is platforms where brands use for communication, but the brands do not own and control the platform. Paid media are advertisements that they run on different platforms, such as; TV, google ads, etc. Lastly, earned media are mentions that brands get from their followings. Today social media and earned media are ways that brands can grow a lot. The makeup community is thriving because of these two types of media. A lot of followers of different brands tag companies in order to get a like or recognized. I think this helps brands a lot because they get new followers.Â
What do you believe is the best media? If you had your own company, would you use all media types? If so, why?Â
