Following a sudden departure in the middle of CHARM’s August 1 concert in Fukuoka, fans of CHARM have been speculating about the state of the health of the group’s youngest member Yuanjun after it was announced halfway into the concert he would not be joining the group for the rest of the performance. This sparked concern among fans, especially as CHARM’s youngest is known to have a history of health complications. After an initial silence, BC Entertainment has finally released a statement regarding the wellbeing of Yuanjun and its implications on the rest of the tour and CHARM’s schedules going forward. Read the official statement below:

Hello. This is BC Entertainment.

After the events at the CHARM 2021 Japan Dome Tour concert in Fukuoka on August 1, we wanted to update and reassure the fans of CHARM that have been anxiously awaiting news regarding CHARM’s Yuanjun. We apologize for the delay on the news and appreciate the wait as BC Entertainment has been in discussion with the artist regarding the best course of action while putting the artist’s health first.

After feeling unwell during the concert, Yuanjun, with a heavy heart, opted to sit out for the rest of the concert in favor of getting a check-up and to preserve his health. After further medical attention, the artist has been diagnosed with a lung infection and thus BC Entertainment and Yuanjun have come to the mutual agreement that, for now, he will be taking a break from his schedules, including the remaining tour dates left on the CHARM 2021 Japan Dome Tour, and focus on recovery before rejoining CHARM again at their group schedules.

For the time being, we ask for your patience and thank you for your continuous love and support for both Yuanjun and CHARM. We will continue to release updates on the artist’s condition.

Cosmetics brand Candylab has announced Origin’s Jihan and CHARM’s Yuanjun as their new ambassadors today. Both of them their respective groups’ maknaes, the press release cites their sweet, youthful charms as the perfect match for the brand.

Yuanjun is no stranger to cosmetics, having previously worked with brands lilybyred and Banila Co. as well as having been part of the main cast of the variety show Lipstick Prince. Meanwhile, Jihan is a novice in the field and is known for his forays into acting, most recently appearing as Lee Hyunseung in the webdrama Love Playlist.

Yuanjun & Hyunsoo release BC Portal song “Awake”

[NEWS] CHARM’s Yuanjun to become host of TBS eFM Yuedong Seoul Radio

BC Entertainment has confirmed that CHARM’s youngest member Yuanjun shall be taking up a position as radio host at TBS eFM Yuedong Seoul Radio. On the Mandarin-speaking radio show, Yuanjun will be interacting with fans in his native language, giving advice, sharing encouragements and playing some of his favorite songs. This marks Yuanjun’s first time as a radio host.

Yuanjun will host TBS eFM Yuedong Seoul Radio 5 times a week, Mondays through Fridays from 21:00-22:00 KST starting from February 1 onwards.

CHARM’s Yuanjun covers Ray Li Young’s January issue

CHARM’s youngest member Yuanjun starts the new year off on a positive note with his first solo cover shoot for the Chinese magazine Ray Li Young. The magazine cover signifies the next step into breaching his native market following the release of his Chinese-language Portal single “Lit” released early last month.

The photoshoot channels a new side of Yuanjun, showing him in trendy and edgy styles that seem to fit well with the image set by the “Lit” music video and the darker concept CHARM has been portraying with their latest comebacks.

In the interview accompanying the photoshoot Yuanjun reveals he’s excited to branch out and take on more activities in his native country and discusses his childhood in Tianjin and how it prepared him for the idol life.

Yuanjun releases BC Portal song “Lit”

[NEWS] CHARM’s Yuanjun to join main cast of “Lipstick Prince”

BC Entertainment has announced that CHARM’s Yuanjun will be joining the cast of upcoming variety show Lipstick Prince. Yuanjun will be joining soloist Alex who was announced as a part of the main cast of the show earlier this month.

It has been revealed that Lipstick Prince will center around male idols learning different make-up techniques and applying their newfound skill on celebrity guests. The show’s production company has revealed that Yuanjun popped up on their radar due to his brand deals with cosmetic brands lilybyred and Banila Co. and that they’ll be looking forward to working with him.

Lipstick Prince is set to start airing October 1.
