I am a first year natural scientist and I still have another whole week of exams. I have completely lost all motivation to revise and can’t seem to bring myself to do anything even though I have a lot of areas to improve on. I am worried because everyone else is revising while I am not and just feel like maybe I’m not cut out for it? I’m really worried about my results and just feel so tired and stressed to do anything heeeeelp
Poor you anon - I feel your pain, I remember being in a very similar situation last year! I think the best thing to do at this point is to give yourself a break - there’s no point trying to force yourself to work when nothing is going in, and so giving yourself some time where you’re allowed to do something else and enjoy it will be really good for you. I’m a big fan of having time off from revision (particularly evenings) and so long as you’re concentrated during the time you are working, it won’t affect your grades to have that time off, and might even help them. If you’ve done the work during the year, more of the information than you think will be in your head, so these last few days of revision probably won’t be what decides your grade. Don’t let yourself think that you’re not cut out for these exams - you are! - it’s just that Cambridge exam term is weird and puts pressure on people that doesn’t need to be put on. In short, my advice is to take a break, do something you enjoy (bake, watch a film/TV show, go for a walk, play sport etc) and then go back to the revision another day. The exams at this point will essentially take care of themselves - you’ve got this!
