i donāt think the marauders fandom is dead, i think people just refuse to read any fic thatās not popularā¦
and i get itās fun to be able to go online and talk about a fic and have everyone know what youāre talking about without having to explain it, but why not promote newer, less popular fics as well? i donāt think reading popular fics is an issue, but when you claim the fandom is dead and that we need a big, popular fic to revive it, it becomes an issue. i donāt think fanfic writers need to strive for a level of popularity just to get their fics read, but sometimes this fandom makes it feel like a necessity.
ALSO, on another note. why do we want to go back to when authors were harassed over their works? i specifically remember the 2022 (i think) marauders fandom having a HUGE issue with putting authors on pedestals, being parasocial, and all around just weird toward them. some of these things still happen, too!!
being stuck at home while your little sister goes on your dream vacation with her friends sucks
going through my docs and i might just start posting drafts of fics i never finished. because why do i love some of them?? i also need the motivation to write once my finals are over
