catherine wheel: how much pain can your muse withstand?

honestly, a lot. more than i could, personally. i don’t mean to make her into some kind of mary-sue, but canonically, vanessa ives has been through a hell of a lot. ( don’t excuse that pun, that was a bad pun ). sure she’ll scream and shout and fight back when she’s attacked, but she’d gladly accept the pain if it would save the life of one of her friends. i’m not sure how far she’d go to protect them, though. i doubt she’d sit there and accept physically grueling torture, like having nails pulled or appendages chopped off. the kind of pain that she feels when there’s a demon inside her is more akin to searing from the inside out, which is why she can withstand the pain from fire better than anything else: she’s used to burning.

also, in one of my verses she’s a mother, so she’s been through all that giving birth malarky as well, which i hear is pretty gross. i used to work on the maternity ward and let me tell you something, those screams are not pleasant.

“God. What now?”

        The last time the feds had showed up was to obtain help on a             case involving some sort of homicidal cult inspired by old viking             tribes, and if this had anything to do with that, then the notion of             fleeing to Jamaica was even more fitting now. “Just tell me how             much blood I'll have to endure”.

( because people are rude as fuck and they do what they want. )

The theatre was not as full as it usually was, and Vanessa was disappointed  to not see  any  familiar faces this time.  So disappointed,  in fact,  that she left  during the interval,  striding out into the pitch black night quite alone. Nothing new,  for her to  be alone,  but as the cold  chilled the skin  on her face,  she felt uneasy.  Ah, she could see someone.
