the scene was like a beautiful dream, as if it were envisioned by a angel from heaven above. flowered garlands of greenery hung from the ceilings and the candalabras and lamps in the room. the flickering candles shone off of the mirrored walls, creating a soft glow in the room. the smell of delicious refreshments wafted in from the drawing room and made the dancers hungry, making them leave the ballroom floor. beautiful music drifted from the instruments of the orchestra and created an atmosphere of grace and beauty. it was a beautiful ball, put on by the lovely Lady Delaroy. and what made it more beautiful was the young lady seated on a settee against the wall.
