Y'all just think about how good of a villain Lena would've been? Like if she went well and truly evil?
Kara would always believe that Lena could be saved. Even when she absolutely couldn't. She'd always think that Lena was good and would never hurt her.
Lena could kill Kara. She has the ability to make the one substance that is literal poison. That can kill Kara.
But you know what would hurt Kara the most?
The fact that Lena couldn't be saved
Lena would know that. And even if Lena didn't kill Kara, just telling her that "I can't and won't change Kara. I'm not that good person you thought I was. YOU ruined that. YOU changed that. You broke me, Kara Danvers. I was so stupidly and deeply in love with you, that I was blind. You lied to me. I will NEVER forgive or forget that. I'm not good Kara. I'm evil just like my family. And I don't love you anymore."
That. That is what would hurt Kara Zor El, more than kryptonite, more than anything else. That would break her
