the small bar  “ walleyes ”  appears to be one location where danny will pick up victims.  however, not in the way you might think.   no, actively approaching someone and making himself visible is an amateur move.   he’s learned to observe the trail  -  a girl meets a nice guy called jed olsen, he gets her phone number and she goes home and tells her four closest friends she’s expecting a call from this attractive guy she met at the bar.   one of the friend gossips with their mother, or one of the friends has a secret crush and rants about this stupid jed olsen guy to their friends.  another looks into who jed olsen is, the typical fbi friend.  the next thing you know, the girl is dead and all fingers point in jed’s direction. 

he’s a stalker, after all.   lives for the process of working for the kill.   he’ll stalk someone in walleyes from a cautious distance  -  sometimes pushing boundaries by walking past their seat or standing behind them in the queue for a drink.   maybe they cross paths on the way to the toilet.   but that’s the extent of it.  

an example of how he might get information is shown with the sheet of matches from walleyes with the victim’s phone number on it.  he’ll listen to his victim’s conversations.  if they’re on a date ?  he’ll note the number down.   if not ?  he might find a way to get a hold of their phone in order to send a text to himself, which he’ll then delete on their phone.  in the past, when his victim’s written their information down for whoever is with them, he’ll make the extra effort to accidentally bump into them on the way to the toilets or a smoke, in order to steal the paper from a pocket.   he prefers to do something like that, where the other person involved loses the information and isn’t able to contact the victim.   then, when the victim is disappointed they’ve not heard anything, he swoops in with his own phone call.    sorry  -  wrong number, it seems I’ve been stood up and given a fake.   a sob story, something that reassures the victim into believing they’re not alone.  bar loners are also observed closely for phone call conversations.  he’s always looking for something he can snag on, information he can use against them that could easily be taken as coincidence. 

this way, there’s practically no connection back to jed olsen.  he’s able to fully control the victim’s mind in the sense that he’s manipulating the situation.   the victim could go back to that bar in hopes of meeting the other again, or go out to get another number, but danny will convince them not to.   he’ll boost their ego, maybe even romance them a little.  make them feel special, because he’s noticed that’s what a lot of people want.  even himself.   he’s also noticed how, similar with our own imagination creating the worst possible thing, people like to vent to strangers.  how much easier conversations over the phone are.  a charming voice with a playful attitude, what they create in their minds at that point isn’t necessarily a negative thing.

walleyes is definitely a prime location for victims, although danny changes it up to ensure victims aren’t linked to the same place over and over again.
