At least he'd finally stopped crying. Adriana must have gotten her text and come to take Angelo... she was a good aunt, and she'd be a good mother too. Evie thought she could be a good mother, but today, the anniversary of her own mother's death, she'd woken up to an empty bed and a crying baby and she just couldn't do it.
Sebastian was somewhere on the other side of the world with Blaise, and she wasn't going to call her dad and make things any harder for him. Blake was working hard, killing people or doing spy shit... she didn't even know what he did anymore, but he was gone, and all she wanted to do was bury herself in her covers and sleep forever.
She'd texted her sister in law after an hour simply saying "Please come get the baby. Bring your key," then turned her phone off. It was irresponsible and horrible and Evie had cried about how horrible she was until she fell asleep. She'd just woken up with no concept of what time it was, but an overwhelming feeling of... she didn't even know what to call it, in her chest.
