Jack felt two things, a sudden and sharp ache in the side of his face, followed by the feeling of the ground slamming against his back as he fell to the ground.
He clutched the side of his face in pain, looking up at Bunny with a hurt expression. He tightened his jaw and held back tears that were a mix of pain and sorrow.
βIβm sorry...I just--I didnβt think that heβd...β Jack stumbled to his feet and took a few steps back from the Easter bunny, eyeing him carefully. He hadnβt meant for this to happen, he thought he was helping--he was trying to stop Pitch.
βGet out, Jack. Get out.β Bunny spat.
But he guessed it was stupid to assume he could do anything right at that point. He took one last glance at the Guardians before letting the wind sweep him up into the sky. He ruined Easter, he ruined their last chance, and a part of him wished the wind would just stop and let him plummet back down to the Earth.
The winds carried him far away from the Guardians and far away from his problems. Maybe in Antarctica he couldnβt mess anything up.
Jack wandered in the seemingly endless wasteland of ice, feeling a kind of numbness that not even cold could constitute.
