Top five kid's movies.
JUST FIVE? I love loads of kids movies. I'm going to exclude Disney and Pixar and Miyazaki because I love them all. There are a lot of grownup movies I enjoyed a lot as a kid (the 1946 Great Expectations), but sticking to 'proper' kids movies.
1. The Last Unicorn. Not sure it deserves to be called a kids movie, but I love it. Only recently read the book and it is just the most beautiful heartbreaking thing.
2. Labyrinth. Ah, my formative childhood years.
3. Mirrormask, which again is one of those films where I'm not sure whether to call it a kids movie or not.
4. The Never Ending Story, of course (child of the 80's)
5. Willa Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.
6, 7 (Chinese and Western), 89
6. I get mistaken for anything between about 25 and 35. It depends who I'm with. There are a lot of girls at work who are 20-24 and they assume I'm the same age. And at the same time because I'm so frighteningly competent and serious, other people assume I'm older than I am.
7. I'm Taurus and... yeah. It's probably a lot like me in some ways. I'm stubborn, cautious, practical, patient, most of the things I've seen associated with that sign tend to fit me quite well. I use my gut instinct to make a lot of decisions - I've learned to trust my intuition since it's usually pretty good and I tend to pick things up some time before the other people around me.
Chinese horoscope, I'm a rooster. Parts of this seem similar to the western horoscope and so work for me, but other parts don't. The site I've just looked on says something about primping for hours and being well dressed. No. I mean, I can be if I really want to make the effort, but I usually don't. And I'm not exactly a big fan of nights out on the town... And it says roosters don't indulge in flights of fancy and I spend a lot of time doing exactly that.
89. I have a sister and a brother - both younger. I get on ok with my sister these days. We used to fight a lot. And I don't just mean shouting. We have scars. But things are ok now. We're polar opposites. She likes to do whatever the popular thing is and isn't (to me) terribly comfortable in her own skin.
My brother is the youngest and has a fabulous dry sense of humour - and for some reason girls love him. They always have. He has random crazy adventures, which so far have included hurling himself off a frozen waterfall because he was bored, taking home a deer he had hit with his car and doing a Tywin Lannister on it (in the dead of night, in his back garden, suspending it from a tree, then burying the remains in a shallow grave. I have no idea what his neighbours thought of this little incident...), building the largest bonfire known to man.
