A Heist With Markiplier Still Takes Place in the Mansion from Who Killed Markiplier. (A Theory)
Maybe everyone already has this in their minds, but I figure itβs worth pointing out just in case.
In the Why Killed Markiplier? stream, Mark basically tells us-- and Iβm paraphrasing here-- that everything (meaning Who Killed Markiplier, WMLW, Damien, etc.) takes place in the mansion, because once these people enter, they become trapped in the never ending loops and stories created there. They are following scripts, whether they fully realize it or not, and they all have roles to play in their respective stories. Because thatβs all they are, not just in real life, but in universe as well-- theyβre all stories. (Link to the relevant timestamp here.)
If we accept this premise, we must also accept that A Heist With Markiplier is nothing more than a story that we, the viewer, are watching and participating in. None of the events are real in any meaningful sense. It all takes place in the mansion.Β
Also worth noting: there is someone else who is aware of this, and he doesnβt seem too happy that weβre going along with it all.
In fact, he seems rather infuriated-- disappointed, even?-- to discover that weβre not trapped like he is, and instead weβre doing this willingly.
We know for certain he understands that weβre actively playing a game, not just acting out a story like the rest of them, because of where he decides to hide his codes:
He doesnβt place them within any of the timelines. He places them outside of the story, where only we can see them.
Dark recognizes that none of this is real, and now he recognizes-- perhaps for the first time, since one of the endings lets us know that this is a soft prequel to A Date With Markiplier-- that unlike everyone else, we chose to be here.
