No power since Tuesday 1:30pm because of the hurricane/tropical storm that went past us (CT). Everscam (eversource) SUCKS.
It's hot. My 99 year old grandmother cannot breath in the heat. Ironically our lizards aren't doing well in the heat cause technically they have no heat (lamps off, hot rooms don't warm tanks well). We have a generator for half the kitchen (including fridge, toaster, and microwave) and running water but no AC.
I am grateful we have what we do but I know others have nothing. No generators, spoiled food, people who need to use medical equipment/need refrigerated medicine that (by now) has gone warm and it's ridiculous.
We knew for like a week this was coming. Everscam only called in extra crews TODAY, at first they said Sunday now they're saying Tuesday "11:59pm" (like YEAH NO you mean by Wednesday then) and everyone (at least on Twitter) is stuck at "evaluating" and almost no one has actually seen any trucks and when they do, they're parked.
Like legit some people only have a single tree on a wire that took their power and it's been 3 days. And now they're saying it's gonna be 8 total.
Saying this was worse than Superstorm Sandy, uh no it wasn't. It lasted like less than an hour.
After charging for "delivery" (most times triple the usage price), Everscam's days are numbered. Almost ALL of CT and other New England states/areas are PISSED at this stupid, greedy, corrupted company, myself included.
